A new phase began in July this year

, with several research strands which continue to build on our philanthropic research and practice engagement, and extend it in new directions.  With a focus on corporates and foundations, highlights include:
  • a feasibility study on corporate giving data,
  • a case-study of employee volunteering in the financial services field,
  • review of the teaching of philanthropy in Europe in higher education, the first of several knowledge exchange projects,
  • new annual updates of foundation sector finances and concerns, in a partnership of the Association of Charitable Foundations (ACF), CGAP (Cass) and Pears Foundation,
  • UK national report from the EU-funded study of European foundation funding for research and innovation, led by Vrije Universiteit, Amsterdam
  • continuing study of community foundations and leadership.
Funding for these various streams of work is being provided by the ESRC; European Union; Pears Foundation; Diana, Princess of Wales Memorial Fund legacy grants.
